Objectives

The Tree Musketeers (TMs) are volunteers who propagate and grow trees, plant them out in Hackney's parks and green spaces, and look after them until they become established. We are based at our community tree nursery on Hackney Marshes. In addition to growing trees, the nursery also has an orchard, forest garden, pond and a small apiary. The TMs run community and school activities, walks & talks, and training, and we work with park user groups in maintaining community orchards and other park plantings. Through its work the TMs raise awareness of the importance of trees in improving the environment and generally enhancing everyone's well being.

Activities

The Tree Musketeers (TMs) propagate and grow trees, plant them out in Hackney's parks and green spaces in collaboration with Hackney Council, and look after them until they become established. The TMs run community and school activities, getting children and local people involved in tree planting. The TMs organise free walks & talks, and offer free training sessions in everything related to trees, such as pruning, propagating and mulching. The TMs also work with park user groups in maintaining community orchards and other park plantings.
