Objectives

We are a local charity offering free information, advice and casework to people who live in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

We can help with a wide range of problems, including debt, housing, benefits, employment, family issues, discrimination, consumer complaints and many more.

The Citizens Advice service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

In addition to our advice services in Greenwich, we also run the Seafarers’ Information and Advice Line (SAIL) which is an advice and casework service specifically for seafarers and their families across the UK.

Activities

Citizens Advice Greenwich provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination.

Face to face advice is delivered through a mixture of  drop in sessions and appointments at outreach locations across the Borough. We provide both generalist and debt advice and casework.

Generalist advice sessions provide advice on issues including welfare benefits, Universal Credit, debt, housing, consumer, employment, immigration (basic issues only) and many other areas.

Our debt and money advice services can help with issues such as Council Tax debt, bailiffs, rent and mortgage arrears, housing benefit overpayments, credit and consumer debt and utilities debt.

Regarding the SAIL project:

SAIL is a completely free advice service dedicated to all seafarers and their families across the UK.

We give free, confidential advice on benefits, money worries, charity grants, pensions and much more.

SAIL is run by Citizens Advice Greenwich. It’s funded by Seafarers Hospital Society, The Seafarers’ Charity, and Greenwich Hospital.
