Objectives

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice aims to support people living with terminal illnesses in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley. We provide care and support to people, their families and carers, supporting approximately 2,000 people every year via our Inpatient Unit, outpatient services, community services, care home services and services at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.

Activities

  • We provide round the clock Specialist Palliative Care in our 13-bedded Inpatient Unit.
  • We support over 1,000 every year in the community with our specialist Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • We provide care to everyone in Greenwich who is eligible for CHC Fast Track care - i.e. people assessed to have a prognosis of less than three months.
  • We provide support to care homes throughout Bexley.
  • We provide outpatient services: Day Hospice, physio appointments, clinics.
  • We provide lots of volunteer-led services: introducing volunteers to patients to support them and offer them friendship and company.
  • We provide advice and guidance to local care homes.
