Objectives

The Greensand Trust is an independent environmental charity that works with local communities and landowners to conserve and enhance the distinctive landscape, wildlife and history of the Greensand Ridge and wider area, improving access, understanding and enjoyment for the benefit of everyone.

Our charitable objectives as laid out at our foundation were:

  1. Promote, encourage and procure for the benefit of the public the improvement, protection and preservation of the countryside of the Greensand Ridge and the surrounding area and its towns and villages and the better development of the rural environment.
  2. To provide facilities for the recreation and other leisure time occupation of the public on the Greensand Ridge and surrounding area,  with the objective of improving their conditions of life
  3. To advance the education of the public

Activities

We own or lease sites where we're working hard to protect and enhance the wildlife found there.

The projects we're involved in are wide and varied and involve us largely working in partnership with other organisations.

We have asought to develop sustainable visitor facilities to generate new revenues, safeguard their surroundings and offer the potential to support the wider environment of The Greensand Ridge for all its communities to enjoy.

Our dedicated education team works with local schools and groups to develop and deliver a range of educational activities and events encouraging all ages to discover our environment in many different ways.

Our volunteers are an essential part of our team helping to secure the future of many habitats and species and making wildlife and green spaces more accessible. If you want ‘to put something back’ or ‘make a difference’ then volunteering for The Greensand Trust is for you
