Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity are looking to recruit four highly dedicated trustees to join our dynamic board. Whether you’re an experienced Trustee, or if this is your first board position, we want to hear from you.
We are making a tangible difference across Greater Manchester, working to ensure that homelessness becomes a rare, brief and non-recurrent occurrence for people in our community. We bring people, businesses, and communities together to pioneer new ideas and invest in promising practice. Over the past 3 years, we have raised and invested £2.7m into this vision. Our future plans take this even further as we embark on new areas work, including preventative programmes and pioneering accommodation solutions. We have recently established our first operational team, are about to launch a new strategy, new website and have some pioneering projects in development.
This is a highly critical time, so we are looking for a rich and diverse mix of skills, experiences, perspectives and voices to steer the organisation through it next period of rapid growth.
We have built a close partnership with The Centre for Homelessness Impact an international leader who live and breathe the data every day. They are driving emphasis on evidence for change, looking across sectors and across the globe. They bring rigour, independence and are our critical friends. They co design our future studies and data based evaluations.
Direct Cash Transfers are an innovative new intervention in the homelessness space. We are developing a pilot scheme to test
them here in Greater Manchester, working with families at the point that their homelessness occurs.
The concept is that quick injection of cash at a critical moment can stop a family falling into the homelessness system (where they may end up staying for years).
