Objectives

The Global Returns Project offers a simple plan for funding climate solutions at scale. It empowers pioneering individuals to Reinvest in Earth: commit 0.25% of their savings and investments annually to the most effective not-for-profit climate initiatives. It also works with financial institutions to make Reinvesting in Earth normal and easy for everyone. By Reinvesting in Earth, its supporters show those institutions how to encourage similar commitments from their clients. And with financial institutions on board, just 3% of individuals with savings and investments could generate $10 billion every year as Reinvestors.

The Global Returns Project selects its charity partners using a rigorous methodology that evaluates scalability, impact and socioeconomic factors. 100% of funds raised through the Global Returns Project go to its charity partners. Our partners currently include Ashden, ClientEarth, Global Canopy, Rainforest Trust UK and the Trillion Trees Initiative.

The Global Returns Project is an initiative of the Climate Crisis Foundation. The Climate Crisis Foundation is a charity registered in England and Wales, charity number 1186683, company number 11882899.

Activities

The Global Returns Project encourages individuals to Reinvest in Earth by participating in events and conferences, hosting panel discussions, writing and publishing thought leadership on issues of climate and finance, offering educational presentations to corporate audiences, and engaging in other outreach activities. We publish a biweekly newsletter curating content relating to climate change and featuring original interviews that we also publish on YouTube.

We work regularly with our charity partners to highlight their successes and facilitate donations to their efforts. We also evaluate other climate not-for-profits for possible inclusion in our portfolio using our distinctive selection methodology.
