Objectives

Global Education Derby is an educational charity. Our vision is to bring about local and global change to work towards a fairer and more sustainable world. We work with young people, communities and educators to achieve this.

Global Education Derby are specialists in global citizenship education. We deliver projects/training addressing global issues through participatory teaching and learning methodologies- developing the skills, attitudes and values needed in an increasingly complex and challenging world.

Activities

We coordinate the Derby Schools Linking Programme, on behalf of the national Schools Linking Network
We coordinate the Care Home Friends and Neighbours project in Derby linking schools and youth groups with care homes for mutual benefit
We are the lead organisation for two Erasmus strategic partnership projects, working with schools in Estonia, Turkey, Germany and Slovenia
We manage a successful national Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for teachers, in partnership with the Consortium of Development Education Centre (CoDEC)
We offer training and consultancy to schools on global learning, cultural diversity, perceptions and stereotypes, international partnerships
We look to support small scale youth work in the Derby area
