We are a small but dynamic international development organisation supporting projects in Kenya, Malawi and India. We are volunteer led and are committed to helping vulnerable people help themselves out of poverty. We work with innovative sustainable grassroots projects initiated by local people passionate about making change in their communities. We like to test boundaries and are excited by new cutting edge ideas in development, working with inspiring individuals and institutions at a local level.
Every penny we raise goes towards project work and we build relationships and friendships rather than projects, thereby creating long lasting networks that are truly supportive, even when funding is scarce.
India: we support the work of Global Concerns India in relation to human rights and governance and accountability, in particular the Transformative Leadership project where women are made aware of their rights at a family and community level.
Malawi: In partnership with Tools for Self Reliance and the Garvald workshops, we work with disabled people in the UK who donate their time and skills refurbishing quality tools that are shipped to Malawi. These tools are used to train and establish businesses for people with disabilities in both rural and urban areas in Malawi.
Kenya: We have established a training centre and sourced funding for a feasibility study from the Scottish Government for a rural business incubator using the arts, culture and heritage as a tool for change. We are working with the community to create a visitor attraction in the village to enable them to benefit from their acquired skills and drive a market for their produce.
