Objectives

Glasgow East End Community Carers (GEECC) is a long established charity in the East End of Glasgow, an area of multiple deprivation. The main objectives of the organisation are to provide a range of support services for unpaid carers including information and advice, emotional support, training and wellbeing, having a voice opportunities, short breaks and home care services.

Activities

GEECC supports unpaid carers and operates two distinct divisions.   The Carers Hub provides support for unpaid carers and the Home Care division is on the Glasgow City Council framework agreement and operates a commercially based home care service employing around 70 care workers.   Any surplus generated from the Home Care division provides resources to the Hub thus enabling the Hub to offer a range of support services to carers - to help them maximise benefits, to reduce isolation by delivering social events and facilitating groups etc.
