Established in 1875, GFS provides opportunities for girls and young women to have fun, make friends and build self-esteem, wellbeing and resilience. Volunteers run weekly sessions for girls and young women in safe, single gender, non-judgemental settings through positive relationships with female role models.
We support girls and young women through the difficult transition from childhood and adolescence to young adulthood by providing opportunities for enjoyment and developing confidence, self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and resilience to enable them to fulfil their potential and live as independent women.
Our staff and national network of more than 130 volunteers deliver a variety of activities, services and support to girls and young women in a safe, single gender, non-judgmental environment throughout England and Wales.
