Objectives

To promote the health, education, recreational opportunity, self improvement and the community support capacity of residents in the local Park Wood community and wider Maidstone area.  Fusion's objectives are to develop projects, initiatives, activities and opportunities for the purpose of health improvement, education. social/general improvement in the standard of life for those in the local community.  Fusion has been embedded in the Park Wood community for 19 years and is a trusted community hub.  Fusion offers a host of services, including universal and targeted interventions either delivered by ourselves or our partner agencies.  Park Wood is an area of high socio-economic deprivation with several challenges including a high level of people without skills or jobs, low educational attainment, high levels of teenage pregnancy, high levels of poor mental health especially around isolation, anxiety and depression, high levels of alcohol admissions to hospital and drug related crime.  Several wards (Park Way and Shepway) are socially and economically disadvantaged.  Park Wood is in the top 10% of the most deprived wards nationally.  We offer a diverse range of support from social groups, activity groups, physical activity groups, training, NHS services, educational course, a full volunteering programme and much more.  We have very impactful measured outcomes with progression from service user through to volunteer through to employment.
