Objectives

We aim to help the children and their families who attend our village school to extend experiences and education and strengthen community ties. Because we live in a fairly isolated village with no public transport, it can be very limiting for our children unless we can provide funding for transport to sports, musical and cultural activities and other experiences. We have also helped vulnerable families during the pandemic by providing IPads where needed. Our help matters because we are a very small village (about 500 in total), with little or no support from outside. If parents cannot afford or do not have transport to take their children to extra-curricular activities, the children would lose opportunities to develop interests and skills available to others. By providing the wider opportunities, we also encourage young families to stay in the village, thus keeping a more mixed age demographic and a living community.

Activities

We fundraise to provide transport to activities which broaden experiences and enrich children’s lives, arrange events to encourage and strengthen community ties and involvement and encourage parents to participate.
