Objectives

The Friends aim to enhance the environment of people living in Coventry by providing a welcoming open space to which people can bring their children to play, can walk their dogs and generally enjoy being outdoors.

The outdoor space proved to be a valuable asset to the community during lockdowns in the last 2 years.

Activities

The Friends have successfully applied for grants which have paid for 2 new playgrounds to be constructed in the park. They have extensively planted an large flower bed which they maintain, liaise with the Lawn Tennis Association to run a tennis club, and help maintain the courts. There is a Crown Bowls club which runs competitions, and the Friends organise various seasonal events through the year. They have organised new park furniture to be installed with help from the council.

Recently, the Friends have opened a 'pop-up' cafe in the pavilion which they are hoping to develop.

The Friends keep a look out in general for the park, so that it maintains it's safe and welcoming reputation.
