Friends of Pott Shrigley is a charitable organisation maintained by the local community of Pott Shrigley. Our primary aim is to help the children at Pott Shrigley Primary School attain the very best quality education possible. We're also instrumental is supporting our Village Hall in all its activities.
Our goals:
This designated small rural primary school faced the possibility of closure at the end of 2016 which had a devastating impact on pupil numbers by almost 50%. Parents, Teachers, Pott Shrigley Village Hall, St Christopher's PCC and the local community understood that the school is at the very heart of our community and is vital to its long term future. As a result, we came together in support of this beautiful and historic 525 year old school and were ultimately successful in stopping the proposed consultation process. The Friends of Pott Shrigley charitable trust was formed and we now aim to improve the facilities in order to re-build pupil numbers.
We are hoping to initially raise £10,000 through grant applications, event fundraisers and JustGiving, for improvement works to our reception class, outdoor play area and to provide new early years equipment.
