Objectives

The Friends of Chichester Harbour bring together those who are passionate about protecting, preserving and enhancing the natural environment along the stretch of the south coast that connects Hampshire and West Sussex.

If you love our harbour as a dog-walker, painter, photographer, sailor, kayaker, bird-watcher, windsurfer, SUP'er or love to walk, then please help us protect the place that you love.

We love it too and we are making a huge difference every week.

Activities

We welcome all ages, and enthusiasts across a broad mix of harbourside pursuits, as members (Friends).

We support the work of Chichester Harbour Conservancy and other like-minded community bodies (such as Chichester Harbour Trust) dedicated to the sustainability of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

We rely on memberships, donations, special events and the help of our wonderful team of volunteers.

Please join us.

Nature recovery needs people and through the generosity of our Friends, we raise money to support our projects.
Because many projects are long-term we constantly need your help.

Some projects that need your help are:
Return of the Tern
We raised funds to pay for nesting platforms and a new nesting island

Oyster boat Terror
We take visitors out on the harbour to show them the wonders of this natural wonder.

Footpaths
We repair and maintain the paths that thousands of walkers enjoy each year.

Community Events
We sponsor community events such as the duck race and beach cleans. These engage our younger community.

Education
Working closely with schools we show children how they can preserve this wonderful place.
