For those of you who don’t know about the charity Friends of Kingsmead Horses, it is essentially about equine therapy and how connecting with horses can benefit individuals. We aim to provide opportunities and resources to people who would benefit from connecting with horses but may not be able to, due to financial, mental or physical restrictions.
We take the horses and ponies out into the community to meet people that may not be able to get to the stables. We buy equipment that will help riders with disabilities. We are trying to make the yard more accessible to people with physical disabilities and would like to make the toilet more disable friendly. We are hoping to help individuals to ride that may not be in a financial position to do so, but would benefit greatly from the experience, due to emotional and physical reasons. We educate people about horses.
