Objectives

FreeVA provides  a range of services to those that are or have experienced Domestic and/or Rape/Sexual Abuse and is a key provider of domestic and sexual violence support services across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (LLR). 

We have specialist experience and knowledge about how domestic and sexual violence affects people, and care about improving their lives.  As an integrated service, we aim to provide an holistic response to women, men, and  children who are affected by domestic and sexual violence/ abuse.

We also work towards increasing awareness of domestic and sexual violence, ensuring that firm and appropriate action is taken against perpetrators; working towards the goal of reducing incidences of domestic and sexual violence.

Activities

 A Helpline open 6 days a week 8am to 8pm offering emotional support, information, safety advice, risk assessment and a 'gateway' to other services.

  • Face-to-face support for those that have experienced rape and sexual assault; delivered by team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs)
  • Co-ordination and access to counselling through partnerships with specialist counselling providers.
  • RESPECT-accredited Perpetrator Programmes for those using violence in relationships, and associated Partner (ex) Support Services
  • Interventions for Young People using violence and sexual abuse in their relationships and against their parents/carers (13+)
  • Support for children 0+ who have experienced rape / sexual assault/ abuse, including support for their parents / carers.
