Objectives

At The Foyer Federation, we believe that every young person has a talent to share and a unique set of strengths that make them who they are. We work through our network of learning and accommodation centres, known as Foyers, which provide a home, a holistic development plan and a nurturing community for young people. As The Foyer Federation, our role is to offer innovation, delivery and support to ensure the Foyer network can secure the best outcomes for young people who can’t live at home.

We take an asset-based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do, encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfill their ambitions.

Our vision is for all young people to have the chance to realise their potential, harness their power and achieve a thriving, loving, sustainable adulthood. Your strengths, not your circumstances, should shape your future.

Activities

Through our quality development framework, engaging programmes and targeted training, we model a whole-person approach to empowering young people experiencing homelessness.

FOR Youth is our quality development framework. It is an in-depth, service-level exploration of quality, which takes the Foyer on a development and accreditation journey to becoming a certificated Foyer. We also run training workshops in key subjects such as Advantaged Thinking, Coaching, Youth Leadership approaches and building staff resilience to promote staff development and a focus on asset-based ways of working.

We run programmes focused on youth leadership and youth voice, and other key areas that are important to young people and the staff that work with them.

Our community events promote peer learning, inspiration and innovation among our members.
