Objectives

FoodBanked is a food bank charity that ensures essential food is saved and not wasted and using its pool of volunteers distributes to people in poverty within east London and surrounding Essex areas. FoodBanked aims to preventĀ or relief of poverty, primarily through the provision of food, clothes, hygiene, household products and services to people in poverty and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty

Activities

FoodBanked works with Retailers, Charities and the local public, collecting food donations and distributing to homeless shelters such as Ryedale Care Centre based in Ilford and to east London & Essex households and to people living rough on the streets. Any money collected from fund raising is used to hold food bank at IDRSA Community Hall in Barkingside on the last Sunday of each month and any left-over food items are distributed to people in poverty ensuring no food is wasted. The fund raising is held on a weekly basis at IDRSA Community Hall and money is allocated for the monthly food bank
