When your child is severely disabled, the usual call of family, friends or neighbours to help with ad-hoc childcare is often not an option. Flexicare provides a free, fully flexible, specialised sitting service for families with children with disabilities and their siblings. Sits take place when the family needs them, either at their home or out on an excursion. There are no set rotas or timetables. For registered families, Flexicare provides a much needed break; time to spend with other children, attend medical appointments or just an extra pair of hands. Our sitters make the difference.
Families request a sit for whatever (non-work related) reason. Flexicare matches a suitable sitter (sometimes two) for the child/ren. Each sitter is DBS checked and fully trained in the child's needs. Families can request up to three sits a month, for up to four hours duration each sit. Sits are free for the families.
