We are a children's cancer charity, specialising in providing art and play therapy in the form of our bespoke "isolation art and craft bags", that are distributed to paediatric haematology and oncology wards for the play teams to supply to inpatients when they are isolated.
Our beneficiaries are children with cancer and other related conditions from birth to 18, and we operate nationwide, with Scottish registration. We currently provide our bags to 7 of the 18 children's hospitals with haematology and oncology wards.
We also provide memory making grants to eligible children nationally, to be used for memory making experiences or to buy toys or play equipment with.
To date we have distributed over 2400 bags, and supported over 230 families with our grants.
We exist because our child, Fletcher, died of cancer just a month before his second birthday in 2017. We created Fletcher's Fund to give him a legacy, and what a legacy he has!
We're more than that now. We spread so much joy and positivity to families going through really difficult times, and give the children receiving treatment a chance to be a child again. We offer them a small moment of normality, packed into a brightly coloured bag. The feedback we receive is incredible, from the families and children themselves but also from the play teams and medical staff on the wards. We are a small charity, but our impact is huge.
We provide bags of art and craft equipment to children and young people with cancer in isolation in paediatric oncology wards. We have 6 types of bags depending on age range, and for the teenagers, based on their preferred gender.
We have also got other play therapy based projects being trialled in one hospital, with a view to offering to other hospitals should the feedback from the project be positive.
We make grants to families to be used for memory making purposes. The premise is to allow the family some financial support to be able to access a special activity with their child and family.
