Fledge was originally the vision of Mark and Lauren Cheshire. Their shared experience of working with young, vulnerable people and the challenges that youth homelessness brings led them to establish Fledge as a means of tackling this.

Through the development of a group of founding trustees and a lot of hard work, Fledge was registered as a charity in May 2014.

The next step was to develop our range of projects to tackle youth homelessness and raise enough funds to employee some key individuals to help make that a reality. We now have six properties that accommodate up to 33 young people aged 18 and over through a supported living model. We also have seven staff members and a fantastic team of volunteers providing mentoring support.

Fledge seeks to expand provision through the development of further supported housing and the implementation of a supported lodgings project.

Mission Statement

Nurturing vulnerable and homeless young people by providing a home environment, offering long-term support and encouraging healthy relationships.

Fledge is Christian charity operating in Eastleigh. We aim to nurture vulnerable and homeless young people from the Borough of Eastleigh, by providing supported housing, mentoring and supported lodgings. Our offer of support is both holistic and long-term.

What Faith Means For Us

Fledge believes we are all created to be loved. We attempt to be compassionate, open, committed and loving as we seek to walk with those we serve and facilitate growth through restorative hospitality.

Fledge provides Supported Accommodation to its residents through one-to-one support and a variety of activities that provide all manner of life skills, mental health, physical health and well-being management. Residents are also provided support to access wider services that are available and beneficial to them.

We support young people to start to journey towards independence via mentor support and the support of our employed Support Workers.

Fledge seeks to expand into other provisions when capacity and funding allow.
