We’re working towards a society that encourages and supports young people from all backgrounds to write creatively for pleasure and agency. We believe there is dignity and power in being able to tell your own story and that writing can transform lives. Our programmes equip young people with the skills and confidence to tell their stories well and to thrive in life and education.
We deliver a creative writing programme in 60+ secondary schools in low income areas in London East Midlands and Yorkshire. Professional writers work with cohorts of students - at least 70% are eligible for pupil premium. They run intensive workshops after school for one or two terms and work towards publishing an anthology. Our enhanced programme provides a young writers festival, other events and resources and professional development for teachers.
