Objectives

The Fire Fighters Charity is the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families. Our mission is to place beneficiaries at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that the fire and rescue community can rely on The Fire Fighters Charity as its primary point of contact for advice and support. We aim to provide practical assistance and solutions to make a real difference to the lives of members of the fire service community.

Activities

We have three centres in Devon, Cumbria and West Sussex, which offer a range of support programmes including physical rehabilitation and recuperation to members of the fire and rescue community.  Our centre in Cumbria also offers nursing care.  To aid emotional recuperation, we additionally offer one or two week breaks designed to help those who have suffered injury, illness, stress or bereavement.

Rehabilitation at any of our specialist centres is all about the whole person, recognising that sometimes how people feel is just as important as how well their bodies work.  Numerous beneficiaries have taken the opportunity to access support from our psychological therapy teams while attending for rehabilitation at our centres.

Our free, confidential helpline is available to all members of the fire and rescue community.  Our friendly team of advisors have been trained to provide impartial advice, guidance and support on a wide range of concerns.  We are also available to provide practical assistance and solutions on a local level through our nationwide network of professional staff and volunteers.
