Objectives

The Filwood Community Centre is situated in one of the most deprived and disadvantaged areas of our city. Our services are aimed at the local and wider community to encourage and enable individuals to participate and take responsibility for and engage with their community. It also provides a place to support people into work.

Activities

The Filwood Community Centre provides a space for:

  • Social events in a well-equipped hall with bar
  • A variety of training in different types of space, including the Café and IT Training Room
  • Sports activities in the sports hall, such as Karate and Boxing
  • Support for job-seekers looking for work and needing a place to access computers and training
  • An extensive volunteering programme is currently being developed
  • And more!

We work in partnership with Community Learning, Job Centre Plus, N-Gaged and other organisations.

We have Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) and Bristol Mental Health Services (ACE) on site.

The Café is open weekdays and provides volunteer and training opportunities
