Farsi Action Foundation helps, support and advises the refugee, immigrant and asylum seeker community, those that are disadvantaged and vulnerable and in need of our help.
We are a fairly new established organisation with a new office which opened in October 2022. Our aims are to help our community, our main aims are to preserve the Farsi language, culture and heritage, provide services to advance education and help tackle mental health and wellbeing concerns and provide help, support and services to tackle poverty and financial hardship.
We currently provide Farsi classes for children, Women's support group activities, 'Look good Feel good'- beauty sessions by experienced beauticians, cultural sessions such as Farsi poetry and Literature afternoons, welfare and financial advice by professional and experienced advisors, Ladies nights (tea and socialising), kids activities, Men's sports activities (Chess tournaments), we have a telephone line that people can contact if they are unable to attend the organisation centre and we plan to do a lot more.
The projects, events and classes we currently run help tackle issues with low confidence and self esteem, depression, financial hardship and difficulty, loneliness, and preserving our culture and language and more.
Our help and support matters as we are the only charity in our local area of Uxbridge, and we know from our community members and generally that there is and has been a demand for us and for our services. As we already know, the Farsi speaking Afghan community have suffered a lot, whether its freshly arriving in the UK and dealing with difficulty adapting to the British society, and dealing with mental health issues such as trauma, depression and loneliness, or those that have been established here who require help for things such as financial advice, mental health services etc.
