Objectives

  1. Enhancing public knowledge about food and farming by the establishment and operation of a farm, that provides training and farm based educational facilities with the object of improving health and wellbeing. Visitors include school groups, people with mental health problems, people living with dementia, deprived people living in the inner city.
  2. Furthering the conservation maintenance and protection of the farms' wildlife and its habitats.

Activities

  1. Nature connection walks and workshops to improve mental health
  2. Farm tours and talks for school groups and other interested parties
  3. Volunteer days on the farm; caring for the fruit trees and bushes and harvesting fruit
  4. Volunteer days centred around livestock
  5. A gardening club which grows vegetables
  6. Men and women in sheds; woodwork projects
  7. Birdspotting, research projects with the university, monitoring wildlife on the farm
