FareShare Sussex has three objectives:
We achieve these objectives by redistributing surplus food from the food industry out to community projects supporting vulnerable people across Sussex.
We deliver approximately 10 tonnes of food every week to over 80 groups, which amounts to enough food for over 25,000 meals. The types of groups we supply to include homeless shelters, lunch clubs, supported housing schemes and food banks. The food comes from along the industry supply chain, from the farms and manufacturers to distributers and wholesalers through to supermarkets and bakeries.
