Objectives

Mission Statement

FamilyLife Mediation is an organisation specialising in working with divorced and separated families, offering help in the separation which can be quite traumatic for all parties, but especially the children. Mediation through family crisis is a structured process in which a neutral mediator helps enable both parties attempt to resolve their fears and disputes.

Family mediation is a process embarked upon by qualified, experienced professionals and recognised by the courts as an alternative way to:

•        Support divorcing or separating couples decide their future

•        Mediation with the children central to the situation

•        Reach agreements and arrangements of child issues

•        Resolving family disputes fairly

 

At FamilyLife Mediation CIC we will be using the Parenting Apart Programme as our main resources to supporting parents, the programme has been developed to support parents in conflict resolution enabling an understanding on the impact upon their selves and their children.

Our aim is to provide information through networking with therapeutic professionals and to offer support for parents to ensure that the family breakdown can transition with as little harmful and emotional impact on the lives of children.

Activities

To provide a Mediation Service for parents experiencing separation and divorce

FamilyLife Mediation Service CIC will facilitate referrals for child contact with MCM Child Contact Centre following completion of the initial mediation assessment

The community will benefit by offering and delivering the Freedom Programme which is a support group with an educational purpose. The group is a 12-week rolling programme, and women are allowed to join the group at any time. The group is FREE and open to all women who have experienced an abusive relationship.

The community will benefit by working with Reach Volunteering (Skilled based expert professionals) so that we can recruit volunteers with the skills set we will need to develop us as a CIC

Create Volunteering Opportunities -We will offer to Family Mediation Council Mediators in training the opportunity to fulfil their acquired training hour and to build their portfolio.
