Objectives

With the decline in Government funding in social care, disability and mental health care, charities like ourselves are filing the gaps in service provision to address the needs of families living with Autism, neurological conditions and other complex needs.  In our fight against food poverty, we have introduced a food hub in North Newcastle to help individuals/families who are struggling or are in crisis.

We largely provide advice, support, advocacy and signposting services.  We believe every child/young person deserves the best education and start in life possible.  We will fight on their behalf to ensure they get the right services and care they need to help them flourish.  We also provide free donated school uniforms and baby items.

A large part of our work is working with families and schools to help children with Special Needs succeed in mainstream schools.  We also help families in crisis with applications for Disability Living Allowances and Independent Person Allowances etc.  Without our intervention and help, many children/young people are left to flounder in mainstream school.  Those with challenging behaviour being locked in rooms by teaching assistants etc.  For those with complex needs we are able to help arrange wrap-around care they desperately need but due to misconceptions, often fear organisations such as social services.

Activities

We are a new charity, created in December 2018 by 3 founding Trustees and are operated by volunteers. We receive little in funding and currently rely on the sales of customer donations on Ebay.

Our immaturity means that we need to add valuable skills to our organisation to help us to better measure our performance and deliver our services to beneficiaries.  Whilst not an exhaustive list, we are currently seeking volunteers and Trustees who can help us with:

Marketing/Communications/Digital Marketing/Social Networking

IT

Governance

Funding specialists for grant/foundation applications

Data Governance/GDPR compliance

Drivers

Donation sorters and Ebay listers
