Objectives

We sell handmade crafts and food from poor communities around the world who work in supportive groups where their development and decent pay and working conditions are prioritised. Concern for the environment lies behind our increasing range of plastic-free, environmentally friendly household items and our organic cottons. We celebrate the skills of people working in their community and campaign for a fairer trading environment for all. These are people who would be marginalised and impoverished.

Activities

By our position in central Oxford, a fairtrade city, by informing customers about the people who make our attractive products, and by reaching an audience beyond the already committed we spread the word about the beneficial effects of trade that is fair in providing lasting improvement in vulnerable lives. As well as our purchases, our profits get ploughed back into fairtrade organisations, more than £60,000 to date. We work co-operatively, as a team of paid and volunteer staff with a volunteer committee of directors overseeing the enterprise.
