Objectives

Ethos Group, formally known as Transhouse was formed in 1993.  Its planned activity being to provide temporary accommodation, care, advice and support for interested people with severe physical disabilities. The main focus of Ethos activity was on the quality of provision of its services to individuals who had experienced spinal cord injury.

Activities

Ethos is what is known as an accommodation-based provider. We provide a service for up to ten people at any one time. All our rooms have profiling beds or turning beds. Each one has an overhead hoist and has accessible washing facilities and storage. We have wheelchair friendly kitchens, wet rooms and gardens.

Ethos is unique and well established, we have a viable service model for preventative enabling services for vulnerable people with spinal cord injury and long term physical disability conditions. We operate within what is increasingly a 'social market' approach to the development and delivery of services. We offer bespoke accommodation and contract a specialist care provider to develop care packages that are designed with the individual in mind. A personal assistant is contracted to provide care for every individual and that is based on the care needs assessment of the client. This enables every client to experience the very difficult and complex world of directing their own care with confidence. We are not a nursing home and we are not a care home.
