Geographical remit:

Established in 1995, Essex Respite & Care Association (ERCA) works with adults who suffer from an acute or chronic mental health diagnosis, and their carers within Essex. Our Vision is: For every adult with a mental health diagnosis living in Essex to have a healthy and fulfilling life, and to be able to access support as and when they need it.

We provide one-on-one person-centred support specifically designed to help individual clients develop skills for living independently, increase their involvement in the community, break their social isolation by encouraging them to engage in social activities, and learn other important life skills.

We provide listening ear to clients and Carers and signpost them to information about other services and support beyond our remit, which could be of benefit to them. Where appropriate, we provide both practical and emotional support to access these other services.

We alleviate demands placed on Carers by providing them with a break from their caring responsibilities on a regular basis and allow them time to pursue their own interests and activities, or simply having time to relax.
