Objectives

Empower – Be The Change is an award winning social enterprise set up to empower people to achieve their potential.

All our programmes directly address issues of poverty, well-being, access to education and community cohesion:

Qualified: delivery of ILM (City & Guilds) qualifications which build personal and leadership skills.

Resilient: psychometric testing and high-quality mentoring enables individuals to take control of their lives.

Empowered: empowered individuals are much more likely to take positive control of their lives and encourage others to do the same.

We currently run three programmes, empowerment programme, empowered leaders and empowered mentors.

Our programmes support anyone aged 15 years and older who wants to gain the confidence and skills to take control of their lives:

  • those hoping to enter education, employment and training
  • college and university students who want to gain key employability skills and experience
  • Individuals in employment who want to enhance their career prospects
  • organisations that want to build cohesive and effective teams

Activities

Empower is working with Remploy, DWP, local and national government agencies, local charities/social enterprises, schools and universities.
Individuals aged between 15 and 75 years old are referred on to our programmes and Empower also signposts and links participants to further opportunities through these agencies.

All our programmes directly address issues of poverty, well-being, access to education and community cohesion which is the core aim of the company:

Qualified: delivery of ILM (City & Guilds) qualifications which build personal and leadership skills.  Highly recognised by employers and FE/HE institutions.
Individuals with qualifications are much more likely to secure employment in their chosen field and progress in their careers.  This also embeds a mindset of life-long learning.

Resilient: psychometric testing and high-quality mentoring enables individuals to recognise the steps they need to take and to have the tools to effectively self-manage.

Empowered: individuals who are empowered are much more likely to take positive control of their lives and to encourage others to do the same.  These individuals are positive role models and have the potential to hugely change a local community.

Our programmes directly contribute to SDG’s 1, 3, 4 and 8.
