Objectives

ECL was set up in 1994 to ‘promote the relief of all persons with a learning disability within the area of Elmbridge Borough Council’. At that time there were no support services for this group in the borough.

Currently ECL supports approximately 100 people with learning disabilities, their families and carers, by providing a range of educational and leisure activities.

The charity is vital because people with learning disabilities are amongst the most vulnerable and socially excluded in society.

Activities

ECL runs a variety of activities, including music workshops, arts and crafts, computer familiarisation, sports, numeracy and board games and a community cafe. We run activities during the day, in the evening and at weekends, in community venues across Elmbridge.
