Objectives

We provide support to people with mental health issues living in Newbury Berkshire and the surrounding areas. Eight Bells was founded by service users to offer a model of support that respects people and treats them as adults, delivering a supportive welcoming environment, and the chance for people to grow, and build, or rediscover their own strengths.

Activities

We provide a friendly welcoming drop in two days a week, a range of activities including art and gardening, access to the Internet, and support with debt and benefit issues. In addition to this, the Eight Bells difference is that members take on roles and responsibilities, ranging from organising fundraisers, to cooking the shared meal, through to opening and closing the centre and handling petty cash.
