Formally, The Countess Mountbatten of Burma Romsey Memorial Trust is for the public benefit to relieve elderly people who are in need, in particular but without limitation by providing housing, services or facilities calculated to relieve the needs of such persons at properties maintained by the CIO. Established, and actively supported today, by the Mountbatten family we provide affordable, full time residential and respite care.
As charity trustees we oversee the operation of Edwina Mountbatten House, a residential care home in the centre of Romsey. We provide our residents with a relaxed, homely and secure environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance. We are one happy family of residents and staff.
The trustees oversee the financial, pastoral and regulatory needs of the Home. The trustees are actively managing a transition from the established model of long term residential care. To ensure the future financial viability in the face of changing market needs and demographics we are progressing a redevelopment project: to provide upgraded facilities and to be able to provide dementia care.
As a Trustee Board we are revitalising our team to rise to the ever increasing financial and regulatory demands.
