We are a social enterprise based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire who run filmmaking workshops for the LGBT community. We also produce LGBT campaigns and films. We also specialise in filming civil partnerships and same-sex marriages where revenue from these services goes back into the organisation to fund our social aims. Our activities helps our beneficiaries by providing free workshops and activities where members of the LGBT community can gain skills in order for future work and sharing their ideas and thoughts. We also create a networking opportunity for them, which is essential in providing support and meeting new friends.
We recently run E.D.E.N Incubator, which was funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The project included workshops training members of the LGBT community in DSLR and editing filmmaking skills, through academic and practical sessions. The group then developed their ideas for the film, they decided on a documentary based on the theme family and created a film called ‘Families Like Ours’. This film was screened at the Sheffield Odeon Cinema and had lots of positive feedback from the participants and the audiences. We are also currently producing a film the aim centring around the contributions to the LGBT community with the specific aim to demonstrate what there is for LGBT women in Sheffield and what still needs to be tackled. As mentioned above we specialise in filming civil partnerships and same-sex marriages ensuring revenue goes back into the organisation to fund our social aims. These are examples of how our organisation is meeting our objectives.
