The aims of the Early Career Networking Group are:
The organisation currently operates and supports two networks: EdConnect and Step Up. Should the demand be there to support other networks, we shall recruit additional volunteers. The Founder of the Early Career Networking Group is also the Chair and Founder of both EdConnect and Step Up.
EdConnect was launched in April 2020. The network is for early career professionals in education and serves over 1900 members across the globe mainly in the UK and the Middle East. The network has the ethos that every early career educator should be able to thrive and not just survive. Since launching the network has held several virtual events, curated a directory on their website and secured funding from Teach First, a UK charity to support its growth and development.
Step Up is brand new network in the pre-launch phase and will be officially launching in June 2023. The network is for new and aspiring leaders in education. The network aims to support new and aspiring leaders by exploring five key areas of educational leadership: Leadership Journeys and Pathways; Leadership Barriers and Challenges; Leadership Diversity; Leadership Development and Leadership Wellbeing.
ECnet provides specialist volunteer services to both these networks. These services include:
As well as ECnet providing these ‘front of house’ services, there are also volunteers who support in back of house roles such as human resources, finance, information technology, strategy, corporate services, administration and business support. Future Operation It is anticipated that ECnet will support other networks. This will be managed through recruitment of additional volunteers.
