The Ecclesiological Society is for those who are interested in and enthusiastic about churches. We are not a religious society - it is the wonderful buildings and their furnishings which interest us, and which we want to share.
We are a friendly and informal Society, sharing our interest in churches amongst ourselves and with a wider public. In particular our events are open to everyone, and our publications are freely available on our website. Our informal e-newsletter keeps a wide range of people informed about events and news.
Members’ interests range over all periods and places, from the earliest churches in Britain through to the most recent developments in ecclesiastical architecture, fittings and liturgy across the world.
We organise regular events and lectures. The Society publishes a regular journal ‘Ecclesiology Today’, and a magazine style update ‘Churchcrawler’ for members. In addition there are regular online newsletters and occasionally as the need arises books are published where there are gaps in knowledge.
Our website lists a range of events, both ours and those organised by others, and a growing set of church tours and favourite churches.
