ELMO operates in the fields of arts and culture and in particular music. It aims to run projects in schools and prisons and elsewhere that provide participants with technical and practical musical education and performance opportunities.
ELMO is interested in making quality live music for the people. We work with a range of musicians (for instance by combining opera with pop singers) and actively cast our performers from diverse community backgrounds. We aim to reach people who often lack access to quality live performances, including inside prison. Our prison project, called Music in the Ville, runs workshops in Pentonville Prison which provide much needed opportunities to prisoners to express themselves through music.
