Objectives

East Cheshire Eye Society provides support, advice, information and training to people affected by sight loss, across the areas of East Cheshire.

Based at our Resource Centre in Macclesfield, the charity provides appointments to discuss a full assessment of a person's needs, together with what options there might be to help them.  This could be in the form of specialist assistive equipment and/or technology, magnification aids, talking books/newspapers of activities to support physical and mental wellbeing.

The charity organises and, through the support of volunteers, runs a range of support and social groups.

Isolation and loneliness can have a big impact on the life of somebody with a visual impairment, and our activities can make all the difference.  Also, when you've just been told you're losing your sight, it's really important to know who you can turn to for advice, information, training and support.
