Objectives

The purpose of East Anglian Astrophysical Research Organisation is to inspire the general public to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics interests, subjects and careers while undertaking meaningful space research projects and supporting satellite missions.

We provide opportunities for anyone over the age of 9 years of age to and get involved in what we do. This is include young children having responsibility for running a space research project. Adults who have an interest in retraining in an engineering or science field being able to come in and gain hands on experience in designing and running experiments. Events run for the general public to help foster a love of STEM careers.

Our members feel that we offer a truly unique opportunity. A fully immersive experience where you can truly get a glimpse into the life of a scientist or engineer and gain hands on, relatable, usable experience.

Activities

We at EAARO want to engage everyone from all socioeconomic backgrounds, genders and age groups and allow them to gain experience that will benefit them in the future. This could be by helping a child gain a working knowledge of space research to help then achieve their career aspirations. A member of the general public attending an event to learn about space events and research being inspired to volunteer and help others. A member or volunteer gaining valuable experience designing a Sudden Ionospheric Disturbance Detector that can be used as evidence when applying for a job in a new career field.
