Objectives

Drug of Art Charity is dedicated to empowering young individuals facing mental health challenges, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our organization provides accessible and inclusive art workshops designed to nurture creativity, provide a safe space for expression and to foster and embrace imagination, curiosity, self esteem and resilience. Through these workshops, we aim to bridge the gap in mental health services for children, offering therapeutic outlets and fostering a sense of community and support. Your help matters because access to art activities should be encouraged for everyone. Being creative has been proven to improve self-esteem and confidence, providing a sense of community. With the alarming increase in anxiety and depression among youth, Drug of Art Charity is doing its part to address the mental health crisis and make a difference. We aim to encourage young people to find their medium of expression, fostering a positive outlet for their emotions.

Activities

Drug of Art Charity employs a multi-faceted approach to achieve its objectives of empowering young minds and addressing mental health challenges. Our activities include:

  1. Accessible Art Workshops:

    • We organize inclusive and accessible art workshops, providing young individuals with a safe space for creative expression. These workshops focus on nurturing creativity, fostering imagination, and instilling a sense of ownership over one's journey to recovery.
  2. Community Outreach Programs:

    • Drug of Art Charity actively engages in community outreach to identify and support individuals who may benefit from our services. We collaborate with adoption services, youth organizations, hospitals, and SEN education schools to ensure our workshops reach those in need.
  3. Therapeutic Programs in Healthcare Settings:

    • Collaborating with healthcare institutions, we design and implement therapeutic art programs in settings such as South Maudsley Hospital and the Museum of the Mind. These programs, led by talented artists and facilitators, provide young patients with a creative space to express themselves and explore their creativity.
  4. Advocacy for Mental Health Awareness:

    • We advocate for increased awareness of mental health challenges among youth, emphasizing the importance of creative outlets in addressing anxiety and depression. Through various channels, we work to destigmatize mental health issues and promote the significance of artistic expression in the healing process.
  5. Collaboration with Artist Collectives:

    • Drug of Art Charity collaborates with artist collectives and facilitators within our network to ensure the quality and diversity of our programs. This collaboration not only supports local artists but also enriches the experiences we offer to young participants.
  6. Long-Term Relationships with Schools and Organizations:

    • To create a lasting impact, we foster long-term relationships with schools and organizations. This approach allows us to provide sustained support to educational institutions, ensuring ongoing access to art activities for young individuals.
