Objectives

The Forum is a local peer run charity, which exists to improve the lives of everyone affected by mental illness by promoting well being and recovery, influencing local statutory service provision and providing a range of specialist peer led and partnership services.  At the Forum we believe that people with lived experience of mental health problems have a wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise that can be utilised in co-production to improve the design and provision of local services.

Activities

The Forum provides a range of specialist peer run services, such as mental health advocacy service, employment service and also community sports and leisure programme.  People accessing these services tell us these services make a difference to their lives because they are delivered by people with their own lived experience.  The Forum also has a number of significant partnerships with statutory providers in which lived experience expertise is employed alongside professional expertise, to co-produce local service shaping and design of services that will meet local people's needs.
