Dormen – the Dorset Business Mentoring Programme – provides one-to-one mentoring support for businesses throughout Dorset – ranging from sole traders to small companies. This enables our clients to grow and develop their businesses, as well as improving their chances of survival - and hence help to boost the economy of the county of Dorset.
Dormen has a growing team of mentors from the local business community who give their time, on a voluntary basis, to help new businesses establish themselves and grow. Support and guidance is therefore available from people who have a proven track record of success in the business world.
Mentors cannot work miracles but they can use their business experience to help clients review their operations and future plans, and act as a sounding board. They can also provide encouragement and support to help clients achieve those plans.
Since it started, the programme has supported over 1100 businesses across the county and now has a team of about 90 volunteer business mentors.
