Objectives

Our vision is that;

Children, young people and families, and the community in York, are empowered to achieve their potential and lead happy, safe, and fulfilled lives.

Activities

Our mission is;

  • To provide an innovative, welcoming, and stimulating environment that offers children, young people, and the community a wide range of social and developmental opportunities that are supportive, challenging, and fun.
  • To be a sustainable physical and community hub that creates bridges from young people to families, parents, and carers, and provides opportunities and spaces for the community to come together

    We provide a range of services to the local community including;

  • 7 weekly youth sessions/projects including Open Access Youth Provision and a Young Volunteers Project and other activities such day trips, weekend residentials and other fun and educational outings for young people aged 8 – 25. We have enthusiastic, trained, and qualified Play, Youth and Community Workers who cover projects such as Dancing, Theatre, Woodwork, Arts, Sports and more throughout the year.  Some of our young people also receive one-to-one mentoring and other support to help with issues such as bereavement.
  • A twice-weekly group called ‘Community Sparks’ which includes an Inclusive Disco and Craft session for adults with additional needs
  • Community support such as our Community Food Project, which developed as a result of the pandemic.
  • Office rental and room hire for voluntary groups and charities and others needing a local base.
