DMK Potential is a charity run by young people, for young people, to advance in life and help young people through providing support and opportunities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
To achieve this, we have two flagship projects, DMK Advantage and DMK Music. DMK Advantage aims to provide young people with opportunities to make a difference volunteering in their communities, while DMK Music aims to support young people to get a foot in the door in the music industry. We are constantly in the process of reviewing our strategy and developing new projects and new ways to support and empower young people. This year, we were invited to host the Local Conference of Youth in the UK, part of the UN’s youth engagement process ahead of the COP26 climate change negotiations. As a new charity, the opportunities are endless for new trustees to truly shape the future of our charity’s work and help us go further in making the world a better place for young people.
