Objectives

Disability Positive is a user led organisation that provides services in Cheshire and North West. We offer opportunities and a voice to people living with disability and long-term health conditions, and their families. We offer advice, help with practical tasks and advocate for people in lots of situations. We listen and share people’s experiences to influence positive change in government policy.

Activities

The social model of disability is the starting point for everything we do, the social model states that people are not disabled by their condition, but by a world that doesn’t meet their needs.

We provide a variety of support services to enhance independence for those living with disability and long-term health conditions and their families. These services range from helping people with everyday life, including managing their own care and support needs though direct payments and personal health budgets, assisting people to be part of their local community, and looking after their own wellbeing. To offering more practical support with managing the finances associated with managing care. We also advocate on peoples behalf and are constantly working hard to influence positive change in government policy.
