Objectives

he Disability Foundation (TDF) is a registered charity that provides complementary therapy services to disabled people, anyone suffering from a chronic health issue or medical condition, as well as those involved in their care, including NHS staff.

Over the last 25 years The Disability Foundation has delivered around 120,000 treatments. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, here’s to another 25 years!

Examples of therapies are: Remedial Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage, Chiropody

Activities

  • Open to any person with any disability or medical condition – most charitable complementary therapy providers focus on one specific user group or health need – such as MS, HIV or women or children. TDF has no boundaries or barriers – we will treat anyone.
  • We also care for the carers – the often forgotten aspect of disability – carers and those around the person with the disability are equally as affected.
  • A high percentage of staff and volunteers have had their own personal experience of disability or ill-health – either through caring for a loved one, working in health care or through their own disabilities and illnesses which adds to the individual care and attention each client is given and why so many clients see TDF as a safe haven
